Knowing Your Enemy - pgs 27-32
Realize
1. What do the following verses tell you about Satan and the way he operates?
John 8:44, 2 Corinthians 4:4, 2 Corinthians 11:14, Ephesians 6:11-12, 1 Peter 5:8
Reflect
2. Why do Satan's lies often appear good and attractive?
3. What are some of the forms Satan's deception takes in our culture?
4. How can you discern the difference between Truth and deception? How can you keep from being deceived by Satan's lies?
Respond
5. Satan knows that you will be more vulnerable to deception if you are not regularly meditating on God's Word. What "good" things keep you away from consistent study of the Word?
6. How can you raise your awareness of the Enemy? What can you do today to consciously embrace God's powerful Truth?
Prayer for the day
Lord, I know that Satan is a very real enemy and that he would like nothing better than to make me ineffective for You and Your kingdom. I ask that You will help me to stay in Your Word and to be aware of the truth that no matter how powerful Satan is, You are more powerful. Amen.

Again, I am a day behind because of work. :-) This thought hit me while I was reading. For those out there who think that women aren't important or struggle with following the head of the household- their husband's- read this.
Satan did not first approach the man; he deliberately approached and deceived the woman. It was the woman who led her husband into sin, and together they led the whole human race into sin. (pg. 33)
Wow- did you catch that? Satan purposefully deceived woman and she purposefully led her husband to sin and he allowed her because he cared for her and she was his wife. He trusted her. As women, that should tell us how important our role is in the family-either with our husbands if we are married, or even with our parents, if we still live at home. Don't ever let anyone lie to you and tell you that women are second class. Look at the power Eve had!
Here is what I learned about Satan today. If you have any other attributes, please list them- my list is not conclusive.
Satan is a murderer
Satan is a liar
Satan is the father of lies
Satan deceives people
Satan blinds non-believers so they can't see the gospel
Satan can look like a "good" thing
Satan is smart
Satan can't be defeated by human effort
Satan is prowling around looking for weak Christians.
Does anyone have anything else to add?
